REBECCA WHEELER

Rebecca (Becky) Wheeler brings a passion for wellness through creativity to Arts Beacon. With a background in nursing, education, and organizational leadership, she is dedicated to expanding opportunities for creative expression and building Community in Grant Park and surrounding neighborhoods.

Becky began taking jewelry-making classes in 2020 and soon expanded her interests to watercolor, a journey that led her to Shannon Kelly and Arts Beacon. In spring 2025, she left her corporate healthcare job to pursue her vision of bringing more creative experiences to Atlanta’s intown communities, where she has lived for more than 25 years.

An enthusiastic lifelong learner, Becky has explored a wide range of artistic mediums through both personal practice and professional curiosity. She currently focuses on jewelry making while continuing to explore drawing, painting, and other creative pursuits.

shannon kelly

Shannon Kelly is a Kirkwood-based watercolor artist with a hyper-realistic style.

After serving as a public school teacher for 12 years, she took a leap into art as a full time vocation. She enjoys the challenge of teaching to others techniques she has developed while painting and drawing.

She co-owns Arts Beacon in Grant Park and sells work under her brand DaisyLions Studio at various boutiques, festivals, and pop ups around Atlanta. She is a 2023-2024 recipient of an "Emerging Artist" grant through Atlanta's mayor Office of Cultural Affairs. Her work has been featured in juried shows across the country and she has had two solo shows to date.

Shannon's work celebrates nature and explores the innate tension between natural and developed spaces in Atlanta. She is also known for her series of paintings of birds.
